About us
Big care, warm hearts, and a place your child can call home
Birds and Blossoms is a licensed daycare on Sage Hill Blvd for children aged six months to six years. One building, one team, and a place where every decision is made with the children in mind.
Here, every educator knows each child by name, notices the little things, and knows what makes them smile each morning.

Why us
Why families choose Birds and Blossoms
Because your child deserves a day they are glad to be in.
Learning that looks like play
Because at this age it is. Educators follow whatever is already lighting your child up, guided by Flight, Alberta's early learning framework.
Grown ups who really see them
Our educators take the time to know every child, understand their needs, celebrate their personality, and help them feel confident.
Long days, gently paced
Open 6:30am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, so an early shift or a late meeting is ours to plan around rather than yours.
Curriculum
Play is the lesson
Everything here is guided by Flight: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework. It is the provincial curriculum framework, and you are very welcome to look it up.

We follow their curiosity
If the room is obsessed with worms this week, the week is about worms. Educators plan around what the children have already noticed.
Letters and numbers, everywhere
Counting the stairs, names on coat hooks, letters drawn in the sand tray. Early literacy and numeracy live inside the play rather than beside it.
Big feelings, small people
Naming what you feel, waiting your turn, saying sorry and meaning it. The hardest curriculum of the lot, and the one that lasts.
Getting ready for school
Coats on by themselves, listening in a group, tidying up when the song starts. The unglamorous skills that make kindergarten feel easy.
What we offer
Days worth being excited about
Fun with a purpose behind it, every single day.
Art and mess
Paint, glue, glitter and hands that need scrubbing at pickup.
Music and movement
Singing, drumming, dancing, and a great deal of enthusiastic shouting.
Outside every day
Snow pants in January, sun hats in July, and puddles in between.
Stories and first words
Books on laps, letters in the sand, and the beginnings of reading.

Questions
Have a question? We are glad you asked
Choosing where your child spends their days is a big decision. Here are the things families ask us most.
Will I know what happened during the day?
Weekly programming is posted at each classroom door, and our Brightwheel app keeps you informed through the day.
Do I need to pack a lunch?
There is no need. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are cooked here, and meals are served in a way that accommodates allergies and dietary restrictions.
When should I keep my child at home?
Fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, or anything that would stop them taking part in the day. We follow Alberta Health Services guidance on exclusion periods, and we will tell you plainly when we need you to collect your child.
Who is allowed to collect my child?
Only the people you name. The first time somebody new collects, we check photo identification, grandparents included. Families tell us they are glad we do.
How will you help my child settle in?
Gently, and at your child's own pace. We run a settling-in week with one familiar educator beside them throughout, and message you the moment they have settled.
Can I visit before I decide?
Yes, and we would love you to. Tours run while the children are here, so you can see the centre in action. Do bring your child with you.
Still wondering about something? Give us a ring. We would much rather talk it through.

Enrolment
Ready for a place
If you have seen the rooms and made up your mind, this is the next step. It asks for more than the tour did, because from here we are planning a real day for a real child.
We reply within two working days
Someone checks the room, the days you asked for and who is already in it before answering.
A request, not a commitment
Nothing is agreed and nothing is owed until we confirm what we can offer and you say yes to it.
Toured with us already?
Say so in the notes and we will pick up where that conversation left off.
